A four-member delegation of students from Milan University, Italy, met with Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, in Islamabad today to discuss the urgent issue of climate change and its impact on Pakistan. During the meeting, the students were informed about the socio-economic effects of climate change and the government's policy measures aimed at enhancing the country's climate resilience. Romina Khurshid Alam outlined various adaptation strategies being implemented by the government, including flood management projects, improved water resource management, and early warning systems. She also highlighted initiatives to promote climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable land use practices. Additionally, she discussed the ministry's efforts to secure funding for adaptation and resilience-building measures. Romina Khurshid Alam emphasized that climate change is the most pressing global issue of this century, requiring robust international cooperation.
