Govt launches three Centers of Excellence to cope challenges in Science, Technology sectors

The government has launched three centres of excellence for fostering research and innovation in different sub-fields of science and technology.

These include National Center for Manufacturing, National Centre for Quantum Computing and National Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal formally launched the centres.

The Centres will be established in Lahore University of Management Sciences, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Kohat, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, University of Engineering and Technology Lahore and NUST, Islamabad.

Speaking on the occasion, the Planning Minister said these centres will equip the country’s youth to cope with the upcoming challenges in the field of technology.

He said under the vision 2025, several initiatives have been taken to empower the youth.

He urged the vice Chancellors of the universities to play their role in improving the teaching system of higher education.
