Minister for Communications and Investment Board Abdul Aleem Khan has said Gilgit to Khunjerab Motorway will be a game changer, which can ensure connectivity to China and the Central Asian countries. Chairing a meeting about various projects of the National Highway Authority in Islamabad today, he said land connectivity to Gwadar through road and rail is of utmost importance. The Minister instructed to ensure quality construction of highways from Gilgit to Chitral, Shandur, Mansehra and other roads. He said there will be no compromise on the quality in the construction of highways and roads. Abdul Aleem Khan said tourists and other citizens will get better travel facilities if highways are more secured. The meeting also considered deployment of Motorway Police and provision of the best facilities to road users in Gilgit-Baltistan. The Minister further instructed to determine priorities for construction of highways and identification of new projects. He advised the NHA to develop a model for working on pr ojects in other countries. Source: Radio Pakistan
